
Maria qualified from Royal Holloway, University of London in 2006. She completed her research thesis at the recurrent miscarriage clinic at St Mary’s Hospital, London, investigating the emotional impact of recurrent miscarriage. She has since worked at Chelsea Westminster Hospital and at South London and Maudsley NHS trust, and is currently also working in private practice at the Sloane Court Clinic.
She is currently involved in several large-scale research projects focusing on early pregnancy loss and doctors’ well-being. She is a Medical Advisor at the Ectopic Pregnancy Trust. She has been involved with the uterine transplant trial since August 2015 and became a founding member of the International Society of Uterine Transplantation in January 2016.
